David Mace

Managing Director

David joined Baylis Estates from GVA where he was Regional Senior Director in charge of the South West and South Wales and headed up the Development Division. Previously he was senior partner at Osmond Tricks and was responsible for a number of significant retail, office and industrial development projects across the South West including The Mall Regional Shopping Centre from its inception to completion.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and former President of the Bristol Property Agents Association.

Josh Roberts

Property Director

Josh has over 32 years experience in the South West property market starting his career with King Sturge before moving into the development sector. Most recently he was a founder shareholder of regional developer Cubex Land. He brings with him wide ranging knowledge and successful delivery of multi-sector commercial and mixed use schemes including speculative as well as pre-let and forward funded projects. Focus on maximising development potential from existing assets alongside identifying, securing and delivering new schemes for the business.

Elfyn Haycock

Development Director

Elfyn recently joined Baylis Estates from Jones Lang LaSalle where he was Project Management Director. Elfyn heads up project delivery as well as working with David and Josh to appraise and secure new development opportunities. Over his career he has delivered c.£500M of developments across retail, mixed-use, office, student, residential and industrial sectors, for developers, funds and institutions. Elfyn’s most recently completed projects include two multi million pound Build to Rent and Student accommodation schemes in the South West.

Neil Smith

Finance Director

Neil qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and has held board level positions since 1998. He has been involved in the construction sector since 2003 and uses his considerable finance and management skills to assist the smooth running of the Baylis Estates business.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has an MBA from Cranfield University.

John Burmester

Non-exec Director

John was formerly a senior partner at Donaldsons where he was responsible for heading up the investment team in their London office. He provides invaluable advice and support in assessing projects and our business strategy.
